2006
Grupo Ipiranga
In August 2006, Unibanco's and Ipiranga group announced the establishment of a new credit, financing and investment society. Other financial products will be made available to clients in the form of personal and consumer direct credit. Currently, Ipiranga has approximately 4,200 service centers throughout the country.
Grupo VR
During 2006 third quarter, Unibanco signed a partnership agreement with Grupo VR, a human resources benefits provider to grant credit, payroll loans, product financing, working capital, group life insurance and pension plans. The Grupo VR has over 20 thousand companies agreements, and its products are accepted in more than 200 thousand business establishments.

Banco Cruzeiro do Sul
Unibanco and Banco Cruzeiro do Sul established an association to jointly develop business in the segment of payroll loans. The association will establish a financial company to operate as a partnership, combining Unibanco's scale of operations, products and services with Banco Cruzeiro do Sul's expertise in managing alternative distribution channels.

2005
Banco Dibens
Responsible for financing vehicle purchases. In June 2005, Unibanco, which already owned 51% of Banco Dibens, acquired full control of the firm, consolidating its operations with those of Unibanco Financeira. The Dibens' brand is now used for financing heavy vehicle purchases and Unibanco Financeira's one for light vehicle acquisitions.

2004
HiperCard
In March 2004, Unibanco acquired the total capital of HiperCard Administradora de Cartão de Crédito Ltda. HiperCard was established in 1982 to be Bompreço supermarkets private label credit card company and is presently accepted in more than 80 thousand points-of-sale in the South, Southeast and Northeast of Brazil. HiperCard is the main means of payment used in the Bompreço and Wal-Mart stores all over the country.


BNL
Unibanco acquired, in June 2004, the total capital of Banco BNL do Brasil S.A. from Banca Nazionale del Lavoro S.p.A. (BNL) taking over BNL's operations in Brazil. BNL received then 10 million of Units, which represented, directly and indirectly, 1.43% of Unibanco's capital. In a Public Offering that took place in the first quarter of 2005, BNL sold its participation in Unibanco.

Sonae
In August 2004, Unibanco and Sonae signed a partnership for the establishment of a new credit company in Brazil, which will be equally controlled by the two partners. Sonae is present in the hypermarket and supermarket segments, with stores spread in the South and Southeast region of the country.

2003
Creditec
In November 2003, Unibanco acquired 100% of the capital of Creditec, a significant player in the personal loans and consumer financing segment to middle and lower income individuals. Creditec has been in the market for nine years and had 600 thousand registered clients by the time of the acquisition. Creditec stores were totally converted into Fininvest stores during the third quarter of 2004.

2001
Ponto Frio/PontoCred
In August 2001, Unibanco announced a strategic alliance with Globex S.A., the owner of Ponto Frio nationwide chain of household appliance stores. Due to to this transaction, Unibanco purchased a 50% interest in Globex's subsidiary PontoCred, which provides consumer finance to Ponto Frio's customers.

Magazine Luiza/LuizaCred
In September 2001, Fininvest established a strategic partnership with Magazine Luiza, a well known Brazilian chain of department stores geographically well positioned in São Paulo state, southern Brazil and southern Minas Gerais state. The partnership created a new company, LuizaCred, to provide financing to Magazine Luiza's customers.

2000

Banco Bandeirantes

Through Banco Bandeirantes' acquisition, in 2000, Unibanco added 700 thousand retail clients, expanding its client base by approximately 22%, and extending the distribution network, reinforcing its share in strategic markets, such as São Paulo and northeastern Brazil.

Fininvest
In 2000, Unibanco acquired the remaining 50% interest in Fininvest. Besides bringing to Unibanco's client base 3 million additional clients, Unibanco became the controller shareholder of the leading consumer finance company in Brazil.

1995
Banco Nacional

Unibanco in 1995 acquired part of the assets of Banco Nacional S.A., gaining access to a network of 1,446 banking centers in the country, about 2.1 milion clients and 1.4 million credit card clients, in what amounted to a be a landmark change in scale.
