Unibanco's Investor Relations (IR) Department is
committed to guarantee a transparent and easy access
to the Group's corporate information. Therefore, its
objective is to give accurate, timely and widespread information on the company, helping to maximize Unibanco's share value and liquidity. This mission follows the best practices of good corporate governance.
To achieve this goal, the IR Department employs an effective, comprehensive strategy. For example, on June 26, 2001, Unibanco and Unibanco Holdings joined the São Paulo Stock Exchange's Novo Mercado Level I, putting them among the first fifteen Brazilian companies to form the Exchange's new Corporate Governance Index.
In line with the organization's strategy, by maintaining regular contact with senior management and all Group departments and subsidiaries, IR staff monitor corporate activities and performance and how these are affected by domestic and international scenarios.
We also handle and anticipate enquiries from the market, provide prompt customer service, ensure that the information supplied is up-to-date and consistent, and are responsible for compliance with the listing, filing and disclosure requirements of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo - BOVESPA), the Brazilian Securities Commission (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários - CVM), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In compliance with CVM regulation, the ICVM 358, Unibanco and Unibanco Holdings have their Policy of Information Disclosure. The companies' management and those employees with access to confidential information have adhered to it. This policy is available in this website, under "Policies and Manuals".
The IR Department is also in charge of efficiently manage market expectations regarding the Group's financial performance and results. We are also active in meeting with domestic and foreign analysts and investors, organizing meetings with the Association of Capital Market Analysts and Investment Professionals (Associação dos Analistas e Profissionais de Investimento do Mercado de Capitais - APIMEC) and the Brazilian Association of Capital Market Analysts (Associação Brasileira dos Analistas do Mercado de Capitais - ABAMEC), and participating in overseas investment conferences and road-shows as well as those for local capital markets. We also prepare and regularly disseminate a wide range of materials including News Releases, Material Events, Annual and Quarterly Reports, the SEC's Form 20-F for the international market plus fixed income and equities prospectus, all of which is available in both Portuguese and English.
To provide analysts, investors and current and prospective clients with even easier and quicker access to our corporate information, we launched our own Investor Relations website in 1999. This site supplies data ranging from Financial Statements and interactive graphs to ratings, ownership structure and institutional presentations, among others. By selecting Contact IR, visitors can communicate directly with the IR staff and receive rapid responses to any queries they may have.
Employing this strategy to achieve its mission allows Unibanco's IR Department to play a key role in corporate operations as well as the its standing in the domestic and international market.
